Having booked me to capture their wedding on Super 8 later this year in Ireland, Alice and Sam came to the studio for a wonderful couples session which not only saw up capturing digital images, but also some beautiful black and white medium format film, some 8x10 large format film as well as a truly one of a kind 8x10 Polaroid.
This was the first time I had met them in real life after we met initially over video call to discuss their big day and they were truly a pleasure to be around and work with.

For the digital images, I used the Leica M10 with Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 lens which renders beautifully and, at wider apertures, introduces a beautiful flare when shooting towards the light like in one of the later photos here. Some photographers often try to eliminate flare at all costs but generally I tend to embrace it, using it as a beautiful addition to the composition. This lens also renders the out of focus areas with a soft glow that I really enjoy. For me, gone are the days when clinical sharpness was king.
